My name is Ibraheem Solaiman and I am a freshman at CCNY. The goal of CCNY’s freshman composition course is to help students learn to write for different audiences/purposes, and have a better understanding of rhetoric and the functions it serves in writing. This collection of our major writing assignments consists of different genres and purposes, and shows how writing must change depending on the conventions required for each genre. Through these assignments, I am now more conscious of how conventions and rhetorical aspects contribute to a piece of writing. Hopefully this portfolio can show my growth as a writer.
